Research and Development Intern
Research and Development Intern, July 2019 - April 2021
Nike and Rookie India, RJ Corp, India
Description:
I worked as a Research and Development Intern, where I was responsible for finding inefficiencies in the current technical setup and software choices of the company and suggesting improvements.
During this time, I noticed that the Visual Merchandising team would benefit from using machine learning to understand which items were frequently being bought together and which items were not. This would help them in setting up the store in a way that would increase sales. I proposed and implemented the Frequent-Pattern Growth Association Mining algorithm on over 2 million transactions to find these patterns.
I also realised that customer feedback data was going largely unused, and proposed a deep learning based system for large scale analysis of customer feedback. This system, when implemented, used a Recurrent Neural Network in Python and Tensorflow to classify the customer feedback into pre-defined classes to help the company understand how many customers were commenting about which different aspects of the product and in-store experience.
